AFRICA’SOUT! Artist Residency Prize in collaboration with DENNISTON HILL

AO! is proud to announce the 2016 Artist Residency Prize will be in collaboration with Denniston Hill for Fall 2016.

AO!’s nomination based Artist Prize results in a residency in partnership with Denniston Hill spanning a month and a half. The program aids artists' projects that have a specific social political engagement with Africa.

This prize aims to further support individual artists' projects with the help of Denniston Hill, a non-profit organization and a New York State registered charity located in the Southern Catskills. Founded by artists Julie Mehretu, a 2015 AO! Contributing Artist,  and Paul Pfeiffer and architectural theorist Lawrence Chua. Denniston Hill supports innovation and exploration in the visual arts, architecture, literature, the sciences, and humanities through residencies, exhibitions, and educational programs.

The selected artist is granted a studio space, living space and stipend for one month at Denniston Hill. Additionally, a two week stay in NYC where they will have the resources and guidance to interact and engage with the art community.

Our 2016 Awardee will be announced June 2016!
